Late Fabric Tuesday

I have been silent for awhile because the cord for my laptop went out.  Fortunately, my sewing machine was working fine!!  Just finished this beauty up for my Modern Swap Partner.  I am going to have a hard time giving this up.  I am comforting myself with the fact that I have enough fabric left to make one for myself!

You can get a glimpse of the hand quilting I stitched into the petals.  That plate is hand appliqued.

Thought she might need a housewife...don't we all!  LOL!

I quilted the petals after appliqueing so that the stitching wouldn't show through the back.  Did a little decorative stitch with the machine around the center in lavender.  I plan on writing the label there.  I echo quilted around the edge, and I love the look!

Made some more of these shopping bags to use as Christmas wrap.  Just love this pattern, and they are getting quicker and quicker to make.  Yup, that is a little rose housewife.

Couldn't resist a fussy cut.
Love the inside of this one.  (edit---A housewife is a little pouch that will hold your needles, thread, thimble, and small sewing scissors!)

Just a peak of the linings.

Adding this to Fabric Tuesday, just click on the button on the left side bar to visit all the other fabulous fabric finishes!

Blessings,

KT

  1. KT, you've been really busy! I can see why this mini will be hard to give up. It has a lot of detail and hand work! Your swap partner will be thrilled to receive this one. Great fabrics used for your bags too, but I have to ask....what is a "housewife"?

  2. Wow, you sure have been busy. I just love the quilting that you did on that Dresden. You have a lucky partner! Like Rene, I have never heard of a housewife...well, nothing made of fabric called a housewife.

  3. KT the fabrics are adorable and the cushion is amazing. I have to laugh when I hear all the cushion swappers say their own is hard to give up. Maybe one day you could all make one intended for someone else and then call it off and you could all keep your own beautiful cushions! 'Cos after all we all do our best for someone else, don't we? LOL Is that a slightly wicked thought, no offense intended!

Love the pictures, but love the photographer even more! Thanks for being the bestest friend ever!

    Ahhhhh....snow. Crappy. Nasty. Cold. Wet.

Where's our transporter machine when we need it? You and the yahoos could beam on over for a day of fun!
