Got it all together!! It should measure about 81" by 81". But I think it needs a border.
Was going to use this, but now that it is all together, I think it needs more color, don't you?
Thinking maybe these in some sort of scrappy border. Also, I don't know how I feel about a square quilt! (I have never seen a square bed!) What do you girls think?
Sorry that this is posted so late, we were out of town Friday and Saturday, and there was no internet connection.
Be sure to check out all the other fun Friday finishes by clicking on the button on the side bar! Enjoy!

I love this! Maybe a thin solid border in the bright pink that is in some of your blocks, then a wider scrappy border?
ReplyDeletethis is gorgeous. the size is amazing. will you use it yourself?
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! Just beautiful and yes, I like the more colorful materials.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh I love it and yes, it needs more color...
ReplyDeleteOh but that quilt is gorgeous. Love your colours. If you feel the quilt needs more colour then it probably does. I quite liked the fabric you had picked but you really need to see what it looks like against the blocks. If you don't use it you could always use it on the back.
ReplyDeleteI, too, do not really like square quilts. I have only made one square quilt, and that was a Christmas throw. All of my quilts are oblong. But, to make yours oblong, you may need to add extra rows. Hmmm; do you want to add more blocks to this? And it is beautiful, btw. :)
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful! I love your fabrics. Aaahhh. This is the life. :-)
ReplyDeleteSquare quilts are great for cuddling under.
ReplyDeleteI can picture floating these blocks in just a little more of the white, then using a scrappy binding.
I love those fabrics, so bright and cheery!

I like the idea of a skinny white border and then some color. I really like the addition of gray with your fabrics. This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI also do not like making square quilts. Not sure why, just dont like them. I like the idea of a small white border and then bind it in the grey. I think a busy border will detract from the lovely blocks.
ReplyDeleteKT, it turned out beautifully!!!! Good luck with your border decision. I am sure you will choose something that looks awesome. The big size of this quilt I think makes it OK to be square. Great for snuggling, or if you decide to put it on a bed, you can angle it over a solid blanket/bedspread. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! What a pretty and easy design for showing off some favorite fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI think a solid or mostly solid color would set off the quilt the nicest. If you wanted to make it oblong, I'd put a relatively skinny border on, then put a scrappy line of rectangles on one end, then add another border. But that's just me. That's kind of what I did on this one:

Wow, the quilt is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteKT: are the fabrics used entirely Erin McMorris' Wildwood? I spot some of them in there!
ReplyDeleteIf yes, I sorely regret not to have bought some more of it, as this quilt with the siggy babies is just plain adorable!!
STUNNING piece of art you have creatied. Lovely use of color. Beautiful. Tammy
ReplyDeleteHere's a late comment! I love the look of this quilt. I love the scrappy border idea!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I LOVE square quilts! My default size for gift giving is 60x60 b/c that's what covers the top of a queen size bed up to the pillows. Think about using (buying?)extra fabrics to make coordinating pillow cases. That way your design colors will continue up the head of the bed.
