Bronchitis Alert!!!!

The table quilt is under the machine ready to start quilting. I have bronchitis. The Treasure has a meeting tonight that I hope ends in time for me to go to the ready med. Hopefully there will be some progress in the sewing department. I wanted to have it finished by Friday!!!! The jacket is done and drip drying. Maybe some double picture action on Friday will make up for this boring post today!!!!

Grocery day is tomorrow, and I am considering Dee's recomendation posted here: http://thequiltingdee.blogspot.com/2009/09/middlests-new-alarm-clock.html

Up Next

All that is left to do on my jacket is hand sew the binding toward the liner! I should be able to get that done today or tomorrow!

Up next is a fall quilt for my dinner table! Yay!

I have been saving these fabrics for some time. I am drawn to fall fabrics that have more purple, less orange. I love purple. I have noticed that I have snuck it into nearly every room in my house! Anyway, these have been hanging out in my stash for a couple of years, until...

I also love toile. The fact that this one is Pilgrims with the perfect colors (read: purple included)sent me to the moon! I hate to cut into it and ruin the beautiful picture, so I think that I will begin with this as a large square in the center! The other fabrics will go around in some sort of border!!! I think that I am just going to play!!

I just bought this at JoAnn's. I was shocked to find that it is Alexander Henry is from 2006. Why have I been missing this???? I was also hoping for a better selvage. But, I love it any way!!!

Finished....well almost.

Well, you can't tell it from the picture, but I will be done today with the quilting. I have chosen to quilt it pretty heavily. I would have been done sooner, but I had to make a thread run yesterday!!!! We have an appointment today, but when I get home, after supper, I have a date.
You can see here, sort of, how much quilting there is. Maybe too much, but I like it.

Here is the pattern that I am using, I bought it long ago at my local quilt shop. Hope there were others who participate in Sew and Tell Friday. Click on the button on the side bar to see what everyone else is finishing this Friday!!!!
Blessings,
KT

I am still here.....

Well, sort of. The project has taken longer than I thought, though I am almost done piecing. Any guesses what it may be? If you already know, no fair spoiling the fun...Dee. Next the quilting!!!!
This is the first time that I used this to sew. What a wonder. My new favorite notion, er tool! So cheap. No, not cheep Dee, CHEAP!

This has been my on the go project. The hook, was my grandma's. Sorry to be so cryptic, but I can't tell you what this is either. Not even Dee knows!!!! (I bet you I get a call for that one!)
Blessings,
KT

An Admission

I hate ironing. But even worse, I hate how things look if you don't iron. So I iron. But things have been much better lately. I met this cute thing at Goodwill. She is a beauty.

She was filled with hard water deposit. I loved her anyway. I had hope. After a little white vinegar spa treatment, she was looking fine. We have bonded throughout the summer. (She is sitting on the fabric for my latest WIP.)

I left this on her, and now everytime I iron, I smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flu Shots and Fabric Shops

After flu shots, Frosties, and ferocious whining, I needed to stop at the quilt shop. I needed needles, bobbins, and batting to finish a quilt. They have a 40% off room. Must peek!!! Score, one of my favorite Freshcuts. Now I have enough to finish the back of that quilt, when I buy the mondo batting, when I work through UFO's.......rats.
Here is a peek at the quilt. I don't even have all the blocks done yet. But I love them! This alone would make the trip a success. But wait, there is still more!!! I bought my sewing machine there earlier this year, and I am still getting 10% off everything that I buy. Apparently this was not enough, on Tuesdays at this particular quilt shop, you get a free fat quarter with purchase. Yesterday was Tuesday!!!!! I didn't see much for myself but I got something for my Tweet buddy......

She is twitterpated!!!

Last of the Napkins

These little beauties are from scraps from Dee. This is my first attempt at machine applique. Please be merciful.

These are from Fresh Cut selvages. I love Heather Bailey Fresh Cut. I haven't finished the quilt yet, maybe using these napkins will inspire me!

Look closely, there is some Amy Butler Daisy Chain in there too.

The binding was so much fun. This will be the binding on the quilt too. Eventually....
Blessings,
KT

Scrappy Napkins

I have already put some of these pictures up on flicker last night, but waited to post. Cheating I know. The linen was from a rummage sale, $1.00 a yard! I am counting it as scrap, not mine, but somebody elses! This one is my favorite because it gives me a little chuckle. Look closely, and remember that this is a napkin!
These are babies from a quilt that is not yet together. I love feed sack reproductions! So cheerful!

Here is the set of civil war reproduction selvages. The binding is the last smidgen of one of my favorite fabrics. I ran out for one of the napkins. No problem, these are supposed to be fun and scrappy.

I have another set of these done, but haven't gotten a picture. Still another set (Fresh Cut Selvages!) need binding. Then I am done. There is one strip of linen left that may in the future become coasters. I am just kinda done with it for now!!
Just want to encourage anyone reading to let go of those "Rules of Quilting" and have some fun.
Blessings,
KT

Baby Finish!!!

I finished this quilt not long ago, and gave it to a Little Lovely before showing it to my quilty friend Dee. I have been chastized and am so repentant, that I started this blog to show Dee what I have worked on!

This quilt is made entirely from scraps. Some were won from a sharing gal over at http://oneshabbychick.typepad.com/one_shabby_chick/. She really got me out of my feed sack and civil war rut! Now I am hooked!

The back is pieced, also from scraps. This kind of "breaking the rules" is addictive!
